Our Story
MilaDi Tarim was born from a suitcase full of spices and a grandmother's recipe book. Mila, who grew up along the edges of the Tarim Basin in Xinjiang, arrived in Den Haag in 2011 with little more than a hunger to share what she knew.
She found Gedempte Burgwal — a quiet canal street in the old city centre — and recognised something familiar in its unhurried pace. The restaurant opened in 2014, and the smell of cumin-rubbed lamb and hand-torn noodles has drifted through the neighbourhood ever since.
Every dish is made the slow way. No shortcuts, no shortcuts to flavour. Just the Uyghur table, honest and whole, in the heart of Den Haag.
