Moksi was born on Boekhorststraat from a single conviction: that Surinamese food — earthy, generous, unhurried — deserves a proper home in Den Haag.
Founder Reuben Matadin grew up between Paramaribo and the Schilderswijk, watching his grandmother layer tayer leaves and salted fish into the pom dish that would later anchor this menu. He opened these doors in 2017 with twelve seats and a borrowed pot.
Today the kitchen runs on the same instinct: slow-cooked, flame-kissed, and made for sharing long after the plates are empty.
