Our Story
Toko Cendana was born from a suitcase and a spice tin. Sri Wahyuni left Yogyakarta in 1994, settled in Den Haag, and spent a decade cooking for her family on Laan van Meerdervoort before neighbours started leaving notes in the letterbox asking if she'd open a restaurant.
She did — in 2006 — in the same narrow shopfront she still tends today. The bumbu pastes are ground by hand each morning. The recipes belong to her grandmother, who never wrote a single one down.
Den Haag has always held a piece of Indonesia in its heart. We're simply here to remind you how it tastes.
